FAQ

What Does CCW Coverage Include?

Benefits vary by plan. Compare criminal and civil defense expenses, civil liability, bail, attorney selection, and exclusions separately. The policy or membership agreement sets the terms for each benefit.

Can I Join Without a CCW Permit?

Some plans require a permit, while others have options for eligible people who carry without one. Select your permit status in the form to narrow the table, then confirm the plan’s eligibility requirements directly with the provider.

Does Coverage Follow Me to Another State?

Check the plan’s incident territory separately from its residency requirements. The States Not Covered row lists residency restrictions. Travel benefits may have different conditions or require an add-on; confirm the terms for the places you expect to visit.

Can I Cover My Spouse or Children?

Family plans, spouse upgrades, and in-home benefits differ. Check who qualifies as a household member, where benefits apply, and whether each person needs separate enrollment. Our family and travel guide covers the questions to ask.

Why Might My Final Price Be Different?

The table shows the base price for the selected plan, with a range where prices vary by state. Household members, optional benefits, enrollment fees, and billing frequency can change the total. Choosing a state updates prices and documented state terms; plans that are unavailable remain clearly marked. Until you choose a state, budget filters use the high end of a range. Annual-only plans are paid annually; the budget filter uses the annual price divided by 12 to compare costs.

Can I Compare Two Plans From the Same Provider?

Yes. Open Choose Plans and check each plan you want to compare. Every selected plan gets its own column. Your form answers filter the table, and selected plans that do not match stay selected so you can bring them back by changing your answers.

What Should I Look for Beyond Price?

Ask when legal expenses are paid, who chooses the attorney, what limits and exclusions apply, and whether repayment can be required. Check civil damages and bail separately from defense costs. Use the comparison guide to prepare questions for each provider.

Where Do the Comparison Details Come From?

Official provider plan, benefit, and enrollment pages are linked in the Sources row. Each plan’s review date appears in Last Checked. This comparison covers four providers and does not rank them or evaluate individual claim outcomes. Read our methodology for the full scope.

Does CCWCoverage.com Earn a Commission?
